Hai Duong belongs to the Red River Delta in the North of Vietnam. It borders with Bac Ninh, Bac Giang provinces on the north, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh provinces on the east, Hung Yen province on the west, and Thai Binh on the south. Hai Duong is not a good place to travel for foreign tourists but it is still a destination for domestic travelers in the North. The weather of Hai Duong is similar to Hanoi so you can visit the province any time of the year.

How to get Hai Duong?

From Hanoi, you can get Hai Duong easily by road because the distance is not far, 57km from Hanoi. There are many buses from Hanoi – Hai Duong, every 15 minutes with cheap price – 40,000 VND. If you want to visit Hai Duong by motorbike, you can follow the highway No.5. And please don’t forget to bring your helmet and driving license.

Con Son – Kiep Bac complex: it can be said that Con Son – Kiep Bac is a place that attracts domestic tourists the most in Hai Duong. Con Son consists of Ky Lan Mountain, Ngu Nhac Mountain and Con Son Lake.  It is a gravel and high mountain with a shrine on the top. Con Son Pagoda was built in the 13th century and repaired and expanded with more intricate features in the 17th and 18th centuries. This is a good place for you to visit, especially for those who want to explore Buddhist religion.

Dao Co (stork island): Dao Co locates in Chi Lang Nam Commune, Thanh Mien District, Hai Duong Province. It’s home mainly to a mere nine varieties of storks, Chinese pond herons, jabirus, buff-backed and grey herons, and the grey, blue and black bitterns. This is a good place for eco-tourism in Hai Duong. Visiting the island, you will feel definitely comfortable when taking boat trip to see many stork species at the late afternoon.

Visiting traditional handicraft villages: The province is also famous for many traditional handicraft villages like Chu Dau Pottery, Chau Khe Gold, Dong Dao Carving, Ke Sat Dry Pancake and Hai Duong Green Bean Cake.

Enjoy many specialties: coming to Hai Duong, you also have an opportunity to enjoy many specialties such as green bean cakes , Gai cake in  Ninh Giang district, litchi in Thanh Ha district, orange in Phu Tai, etc.

Accommodation

Hai Duong is not suitable for overnight because there is no many things to do at night. Most tourists sleep in Hanoi. However, if you still want to stay at Hai Duong, you should choose hotels at the center in the following main roads: Nguyen Luong Bang, Nguyen Thi Due, Dien Bien Phu street.
